“Stories of our lives” movie displayed at Youth Center Tirana by Pink Embassy and OMSA

In the framework of Human Rights week, Pink Embassy and Open Mind Spectrum Albania (OMSA) displayed “ Stories of our lives” movie at Youth Center located in Kavaja street. The movie brought the stories of some African young people with different sexual orientations and their social difficulties caused by these orientations too.

After the movie young people participated in open discussions about its content. They discussed the rights of the LGBT community, how this community prejudices still exists in Albania, but can not be said the same compared to the situation in Africa.

In Uganda, where the film was realized, same-sex couples who live together, came imprisoned and persecuted by the society. Young people in Albania are aware of the promotion of LGBT rights; however our country still has major challenges ahead.
