Copenhagen, Denmark – PINK Embassy Albania is participating in the 13th edition of the European IDAHOT+ Forum 2026, one of the most important European events dedicated to the rights of LGBTIQ+ persons, taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark, in the framework of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia and Intersexphobia (IDAHOT+).
Under the main theme “Pushing for Progress”, the forum brings together representatives of governments, European institutions, international organisations, and civil society from across Europe to discuss current challenges and the advancement of LGBTIQ+ rights at a time when many countries are facing increasing hate speech, polarisation, and anti-LGBTIQ+ narratives.
The participation of PINK Embassy Albania in this forum represents an important opportunity to raise awareness about the developments and challenges related to the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community in Albania, as well as the need to strengthen protection against discrimination, violence, and social exclusion, both online and offline.
The discussions at the forum focus on strengthening public policies for equality, protecting fundamental human rights, combating discrimination, and reinforcing cooperation between public institutions and civil society organisations in order to build safer and more inclusive societies for LGBTIQ+ persons.
PINK Embassy Albania reiterates that respecting and protecting the rights of LGBTIQ+ persons remains an essential part of Albania’s democratic development and European integration process, particularly in relation to human rights standards and obligations arising from the country’s European Union accession process.
