The Petition of so called “intellectuals” only promotes hatred and divisions in the Albanian society!

The PINK Embassy and the Human Rights House of Albania read today in Panorama Newspaper a petition of 57 so-called “intellectuals”, who among other things have in common the instigation of hatred and homophobia against every LGBT person and their supporters in Albania. The reaction is apparently the last show of intellectual ignorance, which seeks to deny knowledge and science, the values ​​and the morale of a society, where everyone enjoys equal rights.

The language of the Petition is reminiscent of the time of dictatorship, where pseudo - intellectuals without moral and ideological values, pushed as hyenas by the Communist party, sent to the purgatory of deaths so many innocent people, who were fighting for an open and democratic society, where everyone is respected in rights and dignity.

The mental emptiness of such pseudo-intellectuals, who have not yet made ​​public what prompted such hatred, wants to keep under the darkness of ignorance every Albanian citizen who dreams of be equal to every European citizen. Such calls seek to lead Albania to become Saudi Arabia, where women must be covered with a headscarf from head to toe and gay people should be sentenced to death.

LGBT people are PRO-FAMILY! LGBT people fight for a society where everyone can live in dignity and equally. LGBT fight every day against hatred, discrimination, inequality and ignorance! Albanian family danger doesn’t come from the LGBT community, nor the Prides or the displays of sexual orientation and gender identity. The risk of the Albanian family lies in inequalities among its members, where the man and only the man can decide for everyone and for everything!

Albania is not East - Albania is West! The real intellectuals of our country dedicated their lives to build an Albania as part of Europe with Western values. In an equal society everyone is equal and enjoys the same rights. Our call today is: Freedom, Equality, Fraternity!
