PINK EMBASSY PARTICIPATES AT THE 2nd NGO FAIR

7 December 2016 - Pink Embassy participated today at the 2nd NGO fair organized by the Albanian National Youth Network, Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth, Youth National Service, Tirana’s Youth Leadership and the Agency for Promotion of Civil Society, with the support of OLOF Palme International Centre, CRCA Albania and the National History Museum in framework of empowerment and support to youth organizations of civil society in Albania.
This fair, which was attended by over 55 organizations, groups, networks, youth political forums from all over Albania and Kosovo, aimed to create a open space to youth organizations of civil society, youth political forums, youth, youth networks and the wider community in the entire country, to inform, building bridges of cooperation, between them and to promote cooperation agreements between local stakeholders, central and donors.
Pink Embassy at the fair had the opportunity to share with the participants information and materials on the situation of LGBTI people in the country. On this occasion Pink Embassies representatives shared with visitors donors and youth the recent programme on homophobic and transphobic bullying that is supported by the US Small Grants Program.
The NGOs Fair was organized in two sessions: In the morning session, which began at 11:00 am, NGOs youth and youth political forums met with donors, public institutions and young people from all over Albania, to inform and share their achievements, programs and issues concerning youth. Throughout the 1st session, PINK Embassy conducted presentations and speed-date meetings with representatives of institutions and youth, who expressed their interest for the work and the program that PINK Embassy has.
In the afternoon session, which began at 19:00, youth NGOs met with Balkan Youth ministers and officials, who gathered in Albania to formalize and to open RYCO (Regional Cooperation Office for the Balkans Youth Western), in Tirana. The purpose of this session was to inform politicians of the Western Balkans for the big work that civil society youth organizations make in Albania in support of youth and the need to support and strengthen such work.
This fair was attended by donors, embassies, businesses, institutions, central and local government which met with organizations, groups, youth political forums to dialogue on the mission, activities, work and initiatives, which most cases are organized on a voluntary basis.
