PINK holds open lecture at Vlora University

PINK Embassy / LGBT Pro Albania in cooperation with Vlora University held an open lecture with the participation of more than 100 students majoring in psychology, law, literature and languages etc. The event was held in the framework of the Festival of Diversity which for the first time this year is travelling all across country with lectures, exhibitions, movie screenings etc.

The lecture focused on sharing information for students on LGBTI concepts, sexual orientation, gender identity, trans and intersex rights etc. Further they managed to discuss on challenges LGBTI people face in many countries including Albania especially in relation to the acceptance and respect of sexual and gender diversity.

Questions from participants focused on parenting, offering new social and cultural models and the difficulties of accepting this community in mainstream society.

PINK Embassy wishes to thank the University of Vlora for their cooperation and hopes that such trainings and lectures for LGBTI and other human rights will take place also in the future.
