PINK Embassy announces "30 Persons of the Year" for the rights of the LGBTI community in Albania
Tirana 10 May 2019 - The Pink Embassy in Albania in cooperation with the UN Free and Equal Campaign, the House of Human Rights and CRCA / ECPAT Albania together with our community members, partners and friends officially opened the 10th Diversity Festival for LGBTI Rights in Albania.
The Diversity Festival is the first ever public event held in Albania on the LGBTI rights and over time has become a tradition for the start of IDAHOT Week, International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. Since its inception 10 years ago, the festival events have been attended by more than 10,000 people throughout Albania! The festival, as usual, brings the Diversity Fair, where NGOs, partners and friends share the work, materials, and information on human rights in Albania!
The UN's Free and Equal Campaign "I am your child" shares with participants, citizens, and the media their updates from various cities in Albania, as well as new awareness materials produced to support the campaign in Albania.
Meanwhile, the Pink Embassy for the fifth year in a row published the National Award "30 Persons of the Year 2019 for LGBTI Rights" for people and personalities who through their work, professions, activism and commitment have provided support and public awareness of LGBTI rights.
Various organizations, groups, communities will march together to demand respect for human rights for the LGBTI community. Together they took the LGBTI flag and marched along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard in support of the LGBTI community in Albania.
