Albania analysis for the first time the situation of LGBTI people and the actions taken by the Albanian Government in this regard

Albanian Government and no profit LGBT organisations have brought for the first time a joint Report over Implementation for LGBTI people in Albania for 2016-2020. The report analyses the situation of LGBTI people in our country, also the development and amplification of National Plan for them.

The reports underline 3 main foundations of National Plan of Action:

Albanian Criminal Code to avoid discrimination of LGBTI people

To:

25 July 2015 – PINK Embassy / LGBT Pro Albania in support of the global efforts of LGBT and women’s rights activists, asks the Albanian Government and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Social Welfare to ask the World Bank to change its safeguard policies and investments polices, by effectively and specifically increasing measures for social groups which are the most vulnerable in society, namely women and girls and sexual and gender minorities.

The PINK Embassy and the Human Rights House of Albania read today in Panorama Newspaper a petition of 57 so-called “intellectuals”, who among other things have in common the instigation of hatred and homophobia against every LGBT person and their supporters in Albania. The reaction is apparently the last show of intellectual ignorance, which seeks to deny knowledge and science, the values ​​and the morale of a society, where everyone enjoys equal rights.

PINK Embassy, Human Rights House of Albania and Open Mind Spectrum Albania open today the 3rd  Festival of Diversity in Albania, inviting all public institutions, media, human rights organizations and people of all orientations, opinions and convictions to join the activities which will take place this week as well as the Pride March on May 17th.
